Just like the trout fishing, we didn't have one blank session, and almost every session produced a personal best pollack!
The pollack fishing was thick and fast almost every time we went out this year.
Rory managed his first every fish at 5+lbs. A great battle, and a great achievement for a young lad- I think that's him hooked for life!
Most of the fishing was on lures, with lots of beginners wanting to make the most of their trips to Oban and wanting to have a go at sea fishing. For most of the trips we didn't have to go too far, conditions nearby to Oban were great for most of the summer.
One of my personal highlights was hosting Neil from Perfect A'lure, and getting out on his RIB to test out the v3 Sandeel soft plastic. The lures have been a while in development, but with this newest version, I don't think there is anywhere else to go. Almost every cast was a fish over 4lbs. I just had to give it a go with the fly rod that i snuck on board, and we took turns getting reefed by huge pollack as we were only fishing in 4 metres of water, and they took the mini mackerel flies so quickly!
I really enjoyed the pollack fishing with clients this year, with plenty of fish around, sometimes it was hard to go wrong, fingers crossed for the same this year!
