Seasons & Locations
The trout season runs from 15th March to 6th October. Stocked fishery fly fishing for rainbow trout is available outside the season, but we usually turn our attention to pike as soon as the trout season finishes. We have great fishing all over Argyll, from Lochgilphead to Glencoe!
Fish Species
The beautiful wild brown trout is the main quarry. Due to the nutrient-poor nature of the hill-lochs, fish are small but plentiful, with catches of 20+ trout between 6-8 inches not uncommon. Big trout are there though, but expect a few more casts to find them.
Pike are our other main freshwater target in Argyll, with fish up to 35lbs to take you well into your backing.
Techniques
Learn the art of fly casting, or throw some big lures for pike with spinning gear. We have all the gear you could need, so why not try something new?
